Bafana crash out of CHAN

Bafana Bafana will not be participating at the 2016 CHAN, despite beating Angola 2-1 in a qualifier in Luanda today.
The South Africans had a mountain to climb after losing the first leg at Rand Stadium 2-0 last week, and they got the early goal they desperately needed.
It came via a helping hand though – Fabricio Mafuta putting a header from Bongani Ndulula that was going wide into his own net.
However, that lead lasted less than 20 minutes after the hosts broke on a quick counter-attack and scored through Gerson just before the break.
The South Africans were much better after halftime and threatened on a few occasions, but had to wait until injury-time to get their second.
It was worth waiting for though – a brilliant long-range free-kick from Lyle Lakay, but in the end it was a mere consolation as they crashed out 3-2 on aggregate.
