Buhle Mkhwanazi says there is no pressure at Bidvest Wits

Posted: 13 October 2015 Time: 10:28

Buhle Mkhwanazi insists there is no pressure on the Bidvest Wits players to win the League title.

The Students have been heavily tipped as challengers after a flurry of activity during the transfer window, and so far they have lived up to that tag – sitting fourth in the standings, one point behind leaders Platinum Stars and Mpumalanga Black Aces.

But Mkhwanazi insists they have no mandate to deliver any silverware.

“There is no pressure from management, the coach or the fans,” he tells

“The club signs quality players and it’s every player’s duty to make sure that the team is doing well. We have to give our all and help the club win the title.”

Mkhwanazi also feels his game has improved massively over the past year, and he credits Wits coach Gavin Hunt for that.

“I have improved a lot under Gavin Hunt; he is a good coach and we defend the way he wants us to defend.

“He doesn’t kick any water bottles – in the dressing-room. He is a former defender and knows exactly how to get his message across.”

Wits will look to go top of the standings when they hosts struggling Jomo Cosmos this Saturday.

Remember to get your KICK OFF Fantasy League team ready for this gameweek, which starts on Saturday afternoon.
