A host of big-name stars including Tsepo Masilela, Nathan Paulse and Henrico Botes will be missing for their respective opening round clashes of Telkom Knockout action this week due to suspension.

Masilela and Paulse both picked up yellow cards in the Ajax Cape Town vs Kaizer Chiefs clash – their fourth of the season – meaning they will miss their sides’ Cup clashes against Platinum Stars and Golden Arrows respectively.

Henrico Botes sits out his second game in a row following his dismissal against SuperSport United last week, meaning he won’t feature in Bidvest Wits’ Cup clash against Free State Stars.

Martizburg United will be without Thamsanqa Mkhize when they host Jomo Cosmos on Friday night, while Polokwane City will have to make do without Gert Barends, who was sent off in Friday’s 2-1 loss to Chippa United, in their match-up against SuperSport.

Joseph Molangoane of Chippa United also continues to serve out his suspension following his red card against platinum Stars, meaning he will play not part in the Chilli Boys’ TKO clash against Mamelodi Sundowns.

Dean Furman (SuperSport), Bongani Zungu (Sundowns) and Ndumiso Mabena (Platinum Stars) all return after serving out their suspensions, and are available for this week's Cup action.
