Pelembe brace downs Tuks

Posted: 27 September 2015 Time: 14:33

Helder Pelembe scored either side of the break as Bloemfontein Celtic beat University of Pretoria 2-0 at Tuks Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The win sees sees Siwelele shoot up to third in the standings, one point behind leaders Platinum Stars and Mpumalanga Black Aces, while AmaTuks slip to third from bottom.

The hosts started better and had two shots from Ethiopian striker Getaneh Kebede go wide.

However, three minutes before the break Celtic took the lead – Pelembe ghosting in between the two centre-backs to bury Thabang Matuka’s perfect cross.

Whatever game-plan Sammy Troughton had after the break went up in smoke inside three minutes as Pelembe got his second.

Tuks had little in the way of answers, with Thabo Mnyamane’s shot from distance the closest they got to scoring.

Bevan Fransman saw his shot saved by Washington Arubi, but it mattered little as Celtic cruised to the three points.
