Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane is confident new striker Leonardo Castro will "come right" following his debut for the club.
The Colombian, who replaced Keagan Dolly with 19 minutes left in Sundowns' 3-2 win over Ajax Cape Town on Wednesday night, didn't make a good impression in his cameo appearance for the Pretoria side.
However, Mosimane says Castro will come full circle with time.
"We gave him [Castro] a run and he's not fit," says Mosimane.
"He can only play about 20 to 30 minutes and we're slowly introducing him. You must also understand that in situations like these, it's also important to introduce players slowly.
"Fiston [Abdul Razak], Bangaly [Soumahoro] and Leo, we need to introduce them slowly and they will come right."
Mosimane went on to use his former captain Alje Schut as a case study. The Dutch defender didn't hit the ground running before leading Downs to League glory in the 2013/2014 season and the Nedbank Cup title four months ago.
"Alje Schut didn't start very well if you guys remember but who was the best afterwards? [Collins] Mbesuma didn't start well at Kaizer Chiefs before he scored those goals.
"[Knowledge] Musona didn't start well at Chiefs but the next year he was scoring goals and those are life lessons I learn from football."
