Polokwane City will have the foreign trio of Malawian striker Esau Kanyenda, Zimbabwean goalkeeper George Chigova and Senegalese forward Baptiste Faye all available for selection for the first time this season following the issuing of their work permits.
Polokwane host Orlando Pirates tomorrow at Peter Mokaba Stadium.
The three players have had to watch from the stands since the beginning of the season as they awaited the issuing of their work permits which would then enable them to be registered with the PSL and thus become available for selection.
Chigova and Faye now stand in line to make their PSL debuts having both joined at the start of the season.
Tincy Tema, the City COO, confirms the latest developments to KickOff.com.
“All our foreign players now have all their documents in order after getting their work permits and they will all be available for selection with immediate effect. It is now up to the coach to select them,” says Tema.
Without an experienced keeper Polokwane have been forced to use Pule Konopi – who has leaked eight goals to date – but with Chigova now available they will call on the big Zimbabwean, while Faye and Kanyenda will widen the attacking options.
