Minor problems holding up Daniel Akpeyi debut

Nigerian goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi has arrived at Chippa United with ‘minor paperwork’ needing to be sorted out with his previous club Warri Wolves before he becomes available for selection.
Akpeyi signed for Chippa three months ago but has had his move delayed, forcing the club to turn to the inexperienced Daylan Hawes, Siliziwe Ayanda Masiko and Shandukani Mulovhedzi in a completely new goalkeeping department from last season.
“Daniel is training with the team and his papers are almost done. We are just sorting out some paperwork with his previous club in Nigeria. However, all is well and he will soon be available for selection,” says Lukhanyo Mzinzi, the Chippa spokesman.
KickOff.com has actually gathered that the 28-year-old already has his work-permit, but is merely waiting on Warri to issue his clearance that will then enable him to be registered with the PSL and become available for selection.
Akpeyi is a 2005 Under-20 World Cup silver medallist who has been second choice to Vincent Enyeama in the Super Eagles.
