Former Kaizer Chiefs and Moroka Swallows defender Mohammed Ouseb made a triumphant debut for Namibia’s Orlando Pirates when he headed in their winning goal against Mighty Gunners at the weekend.
The match seemed to be heading for a draw when the Namibian Buccaneers won a corner with 10 minutes to go and Ouseb rose high to head the ball into the net.
Now 34, Ouseb has also previously played for Kaizer Chiefs and had a stint with SFK Lyn in Norway.
He was voted the 1998/99 Kick Off Footballer of the Year and last played for the Birds in April 2006 in a league match against Santos in Cape Town.
Ouseb was forced out of the professional ranks because of a recurring knee injury that saw him return to Namibia where he initially helped his former club, Chief Santos, at his home town, Tsumeb to regain their status back into the Namibian top flight football.
