Chippa United recorded their first win of the season in style with a 4-0 hammering of ten-man University of Pretoria in Port Elizabeth on Tuesday night.
New signings Mark Mayambela, Lerato Manzini and Nkosinathi Mthiyane opened their accounts to go with a goal from Eric Chipeta at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
AmaTuks, who thrashed Polokwane City 3-0 on the weekend, were not helped when Vukile Mngqibisa received his second caution for a foul in the 68th minute.
The result lifted United to fourth on the Absa Premiership table with four points from three games - three points shy of leaders Mpumalanga Black Aces, and a point ahead of 11th-placed Tuks.
It was the visitors who started the brightest when Ethiopia international Getaneh Kebede had the first chance at goal, but he missed to the left of the target after 13 minutes.
And the fans had to wait until 31 minutes for the next real chance at goal when Rhulani Manzini fired in a shot, but Washington Arubi saved easily.
But soon enough Chippa found the opener through Mayambela, who got onto the end of a Chipeta delivery to head home.
AmaTuks were dealt a serious blow after Mnqibisa was sent off after tangling with Chipeta.
Chipeta then made it 2-0 from the spot in the 78th minute after a foul by Partson Jaure on Mayamabela.
Three minutes later Mthiyane put his header past Arubi from Kuduku Maleasenya's cross, and he was beaten again by L. Manzini late on following an assist from William Twala.
