Coach Steve Komphela hailed Siphiwe Tshabalala's stunning strike against Free State Stars, while he was also pleased with Siphelele Mthembu and Bongani Ndulula's efforts upfront for Kaizer Chiefs.

Chiefs thrashed Stars 4-0 in the Absa Premiership on the weekend, with Man of the Match Tshabalala netting the pick of the goals with a half-volley from around 35 yards out.

“Outstanding … already a contender for Goal of the Season,” Komphela said.

“Already a lot of beautiful goals have been scored this season; I don’t know what’s happening in the PSL, but it is inspiring.”

When asked about Mthembu and Ndulula, Komphela said on the club's website: “There are different types of striker. You have the foxes in the box, like the former English attacker Michael Owen, and then there are the strikers like the former German international Oliver Bierhoff.

“Mthembu did what we wanted him to do, as he did last week against Bloemfontein Celtic. Bongani Ndulula, who came on for Siphelele, also did the same. I am happy with my strike force.”

The Glamour Boys next visit Polokwane City at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Tuesday. Rise and Shine were hammered 3-0 by University of Pretora on Saturday, but Komphela is wary of taking Kosta Papic's charges lightly.

“We don’t read much into the past results of our upcoming opponents,” he said.

“Before our own game tonight, when we were relaxing, we watched that game. We will be ready come Tuesday.”
