Granwald Scott missing for Ajax Cape Town

Posted: 20 August 2015 Time: 15:38

Ajax Cape Town midfielder Granwald Scott has been ruled out of Saturday's League clash with Maritzburg United, while in-form Ndiviwe Mdabuka faces a late fitness test.

Scott (groin) and Mdabuka (calf strain) sustained knocks in Ajax's 1-1 MTN8 draw against Bidvest Wits at Coetzenburg Stadium in Stellenbosch over the weekend.

"Scott is out; it's a groin injury on the opposite side to earlier in the season. Obviously he over-compensated and the ground he was playing on and the conditions didn't suit him," Ajax coach Roger de Sa says.

"’Diva’ has a calf strain. He picked it up at the end of the match against Wits and played through with it. Today in the warm-up we took him out and gave him treatment. We are hoping for a bit of a miraculous recovery."

De Sa also confirmed that Mosa Lebusa (groin) and Tashreeq Morris (knee) remain on the sidelines, but towering striker Nathan Paulse could make his return off the bench.

"Nathan Paulse is now back in the squad. He is available to play, not to start. You can't expect Nathan to be fully fit, but the guys have been playing like warriors, they really have.”
