Bongani Khumalo eyes Europe return

Posted: 19 August 2015 Time: 15:30

Bongani Khumalo says he has not given up on a return to Europe, despite failing to make the grade in four years abroad.

The defender has returned to the PSL after leaving for Tottenham Hotspur in 2011. His time there didn’t go according to plan, but Khumalo says it’s not the end of the road.

"Football is sort of as and when,” he tells the PSL’s official website. “I'm here now, but things can change and I'm not closing off the option of Europe should it arise again, should it be right and should it make sense.

“But for now I'm focusing on SuperSport. They've given me a chance and my mind is purely on that."

Khumalo was captain of the SuperSport side that won three Absa Premiership titles in a row, and he says that will be the goal again.

“I want to help them to challenge for the League again. Hopefully we can be champions once again, which will be my fourth one. So the challenge is there and I'm excited about that.”
