Gift Motupa will be a great asset for Orlando Pirates.
That is the view of former Baroka FC coach Sello Chokoe after the 21-year-old made his Buccaneers debut last night.
Motupa came on as a substitute for Thamsanqa Gabuza and created the third goal for Mpho Makola in the 4-1 victory against Chippa United.
Chokoe, who discovered Motupa as a 16-year-old during a youth tournament in Limpopo, tells KickOff.com that there is still a lot more to come from the national Under-23 midfielder.
"He is more comfortable playing the ball on the ground and can create chances,” Chokoe says. “He is strong, aggressive and has an eye for goals.
“I think he is more suited playing just behind the striker and just in front of Issa Sarr and Oupa Manyisa. He showed what is capable of last night and I think he will be a great asset for Pirates.”
Chokoe says he saw Motupa’s talent right from the start.
"There was no doubt that this youngster was destined for a great future in football, but he needs to remain level headed and keep working hard. I like for the fact that is hungry for success.”
