SuperSport coach Igesund praises teenager Farmer following debut against Orlando Pirates

SuperSport United coach Gordon Igesund has tipped teenager Denwin Farmer as a player with a bright future following his "oustanding" debut against Orlando Pirates.

Farmer, 18, impressed alongside Bongani Khumalo in central defence in a 1-0 win at Peter Mokaba Stadium earlier this week.

"There is a perception that other coaches don't like youngsters. That's not my perception but the truth of the matter is that I like young players when they are ready play," says Igesund.

"I don't look at him as youngster but as a player. I think he was outstanding against Pirates. He won everything in the air and used the ball very well.

"He was not nervous because he believes in himself. I did a lot of talking with him.

"Playing a big game against Pirates, first game of the League, was not going to be easy for a 17 or 18-year-old.

"He did fantastic and that's very pleasing for me. 

"I believe he has big future ahead of him," concludes the four-time PSL winner.
