Kaizer Chiefs development co-ordinator Conti Kubheka is pleased to see Hendrick Ekstein is getting game-time for the Absa Premiership and MTN8 champions.

Ekstein was promoted to the first team last season along with Chris Matombo and Zitha Macheke after impressing in the inaugural MultiChoice Diski Challenge, which serves as a reserve league to the topflight.

The 24-year-old - whose late rise in the game is featured in the latest KICK OFF Magazine - has come on as a substitute in both of Amakhosi's games to date this term [5-3 win over Maritzburg in the MTN8, 0-0 draw with Chippa United in the League].

Matombo and Macheke are on loan at United, and also played on the weekend at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

"We are happy to see Ekstein getting a run in the first team,” Kubheka told the club's website.

“Macheke and Matombo are on loan at Chippa United and it was good to see them getting game-time last weekend.”

Meanwhile, Kubheka said the Glamour Boys' development structures are in good shape.

“By the end of this month all the teams will be ready for action.

“The development structures are in good condition and gradually we are about to reach the expected excellence.

“Chairman Kaizer Motaung has a dream and we have a mandate to meet his expectations.”
