Dull draw for Maritzburg, Cosmos

Maritzburg United were left frustrated as Jomo Cosmos managed to hold them to a goalless draw in the Absa Premiership at Harry Gwala Stadium on Monday evening.
Eager to get their League season off to a flying start on the back of their first top-eight finish in their history, the Team of Choice had to settle for a point as a resilient Ezenkosi markerd their return to South Africa's top-flight with a 0-0 stalemate.
The game got off to a lightning start with both teams enjoying early chances to open the scoring.
Kurt Lentjies set the tempo with his volley attempt flying inches wide in the third minute before Matsilele Sono's shot at goal failed to trouble Virgil Vries six minutes later.
The best chance of the half came soon after with Pentjie Zulu unlucky to see his shot canon off the crossbar.
Maritzburg dominated possession throughout the opening stanza and entered the break in command with Lentjies and Ashley Hartog seeing their respective shots fly wide of Sherwin Naicker's goal.
The Team of Choice found an even more stubborn Cosmos defensive line after the break as Ezenkosi tried to punish the KwaZulu-Natal side on the counter.
Mxolisi Macuphu should've done better when he was put through on goal by Bamuza Sono, but the midfielder could only manage to hit his weak effort straight at an advancing Vries in the 77th minute.
Maritzburg had the two best chances in the final few minutes as they rallied for a late winner.
In the 87th minute David Booysen, completely free at the far post, couldn't keep down Ashley Hartog's free-kick from five yards before Thamsanqa Mkhize burst into the box and was thwarted by Naicker in the 89th minute.
Cosmos next face National First Division champions Golden Arrows while Maritzburg are away to Ajax Cape Town.
