Gavin Hunt open to Erwin Isaacs departure from Wits

Posted: 3 August 2015 Time: 16:43

Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt will not stand in Erwin Isaacs’ way if he wants to leave, as long as interested clubs can afford to buy him.

The 28-year-old was impressive in his six-month loan stint with Ajax Cape Town last season, scoring three crucial goals in 11 outings, but attempts for a permanent move went futile due to Wits’ asking price.

Isaacs has since returned to Wits as he is still contracted to the club but it remains to be seen if he will feature for the Students this season.

“Obviously he is contracted to the club and he is back to honour his contract,” Hunt tells KickOff.com.

“But if the opportunity comes for him to go to another club where he will continue to get game-time and do well like he did at Ajax [we will consider it].

“But it obviously has to be a club that can afford him.”

Since his move from Santos ahead of the 2012/13 campaign Isaacs has only managed 27 appearances in two-and-a-half seasons with Wits.
