AmaZulu: No offers for Marc van Heerden, S'fiso Hlanti

Posted: 30 July 2015 Time: 00:03

AmaZulu marketing manager Lunga Sokhela says people need to stop doing their business via the media if they want to sign Marc van Heerden or S'fiso Hlanti.

Both Van Heerden and Hlanti have been linked with moves to clubs still in the Absa Premiership following Usuthu’s relegation at the end of last season, but the club official says no concrete offers have been received.

“The problem we have is that there are a lot of people doing their business via Soccer Laduma and KickOff.com and not talking to us,” Sokhela said at the draw for the Premier's Cup in Richards Bay.

“So the issue of Hlanti and Marc van Heerden, no club has come with a fair offer for those players. So as long as that is the case, they will continue with AmaZulu.

“But if clubs want to do business and they’ve got the right valuation of our players, then we are willing to talk.”

Sokhela elaborated: “We have two objectives and obviously because of what happened last season, one of them was we wanted to come to this season having kept the core of our squad and critical players, and also be mindful of the Under-23 rule in the NFD.

“There's not a moment in time when we stood on anyone's plans if they wanted to leave the club and the condition is simple, if you want to go to another club, the club must agree a fair transfer for you … nobody is gonna walk away for free.”

Usuthu are understood to be looking for between R1.5-million and R2-million for Hlanti, while Van Heerden is valued at R4-million. Both players’ contracts are in their final year and it is believed they will sign pre-contracts with other clubs during the January transfer window.

Meanwhile, Usuthu will participate in the Premier's Cup which is now set to be an annual tournament at Umhlathuze Sports Stadium featuring KZN sides Royal Eagles, Golden Arrows, Thanda Zulu Royal and Maritzburg United.
