Ajax Cape Town coach Roger de Sa tells KickOff.com the club is considering swooping for former Orlando Pirates winger Khethokwakhe Masuku.
The 29-year-old is a free agent after parting ways with Bucs earlier this month along with Lennox Bacela.
De Sa feels his young squad - which lost 3-1 to Mamelodi Sundowns in the eTV Charity Showdown Final this past weekend - could benefit with the addition of "three more players".
“I am obviously happy with the squad that we’ve assembled thus far,” he says.
“I had a chat with the chairman the other day and we are looking at about 25 players.
“Also we got a very good youth structure to call on, so if we are troubled we can always look down to these quality boys.
“Some of those kids played against Sundowns in the Charity final over the weekend and they will be much better prepared.
“I believe we are happy with what we have but I still think we need another three players and we are going to get them hopefully before the Cape Town Cup gets underway [on Friday].
“One is pretty close and the next two, I think by the end of the week.
“We looked at a few players and he’s [Masuku] one of them, but there’s a lot of players we’ve been in touch with.
“But you know it’s always a question of availability, affordability, fitting into what we are looking for and then obviously comes the clubs involved, if there is any.”
