Bloemfontein Celtic newcomer Lantshene Phalane has likened his long-held ambitions of joining the club to that of a spiritual calling.
Celtic recruited the defensive midfielder on a three-year deal in June along with striker Vuyisile Wana from Moroka Swallows.
Phalane told his club's website: "Life is strange. While still playing for Baroka FC, I always had goose-bumps when watching Celtic play in front of their euphoric fans and I would tell people I wanted to be part of that family. It is like a spiritual call, dreaming to don the famous green and white with pride.”
The left-footed player, who competed in the Maize Cup which was won by Platinum Stars on July 11, is determined to add value in the City of Roses.
“I joined the team at the right time with everyone preparing for the season and we are gradually getting to know each other. Besides playing friendly games we still need to play competitive league and cup matches to gauge our readiness but the reality is we want to fight wholeheartedly.
“I am enjoying every moment and that drives me to push further, tirelessly working with vigour to be psychologically focused. I was signed to add value and that can only happen through self discipline and endurance.”
