SuperSport’s Michael Boxall to arrive in South Africa this week

Posted: 20 July 2015 Time: 19:24

New SuperSport United signing Michael Boxall is expected to land in South Africa this week to finally join his new teammates in Pretoria.

The New Zealand international was confirmed as a new United signing in May, yet problems with the issuing of his work permit has delayed his arrival in the country.

The 26-year-old admits it has been an annoying last few weeks, yet reveals his wait should be nearly over.

“Yes, it has been very frustrating!” he tells KickOff.com. “I am sorting out [the issue] today, and I should be there in South Africa in the next couple of days.”

The former Wellington Phoenix defender added that he will be travelling with the Matsatsantsa squad to Cape Town ahead of this weekend’s Cape Town Cup.

SuperSport take on Premier League side Crystal Palace in the tournament’s opener on Friday evening, with the winner facing the victor in the evening’s other clash between hosts Ajax Cape Town and Portugal’s Sporting Lisbon on Sunday afternoon.
