SuperSport United winger Thuso Phala has backed new Golden Arrows coach Serame Letsoaka to succeed at the KZN club after taking up the reins in June.
Letsoaka was an assistant at United last season before moving out of Gordon Igesund's shadow to replace Shaun Bartlett at the PSL comeback boys.
"He's a good coach and I think he deserves an opportunity to lead a team. He will do well at Golden Arrows," says Phala.
"He was not treated as an assistant coach here at SuperSport. We called him a head coach. We had two head coaches."
The Bafana Bafana international adds that Letsoaka's presence in the change room will be missed when the new season gets underway.
"We are really going to miss him and I wish him well at Arrows.
"We will miss his presence, his advice and his calmness because sometimes coach Gordon would be angry at us for not getting results then Serame would be around and be calm to show the confidence he has in the players."
