Chippa United retain Mbhuyiselo Sambu, release Msekeli Mvalo

Chippa United have retained experienced defender Mbhuyiselo Sambu and confirmed the release of Msekeli Mvalo.

Sambu’s previous contract expired at the end of last month but the club has tied him to a new deal after he put in a firm shift of 21 games last season.

As KickOff.com reported earlier this week, Mvalo has been let go just six months after his return to the club.

Lukhanyo Mzinzi, the Chippa spokesman, confirms the latest developments.

“Sambu is definitely staying with us as his contract is as good as done. With regards to Mvalo he is going to be leaving the club due to the tough competition that has seen him fail to break into the team,” says Mzinzi.

Mvalo returned to the club in January after a spell with Royal Eagles.

The club has also confirmed that pint-sized midfielder Buyani Sali will be staying despite starting just a single match and making four substitute appearances last season.
