Zambian defender Davies Nkausu is awaiting the finalisation of his departure from Bloemfontein Celtic, where he is no longer wanted.
Nkausu spent the second half of last season on loan at University of Pretoria and upon the expiry of that arrangement his parent club Celtic then decided they didn’t have him in their plans going forward.
However, the sticking point is that the 29-year-old still has a year remaining on his contract with Phunya Sele Sele, which means he has effectively been transfer-listed.
“I am training alone here in Pretoria for now because I am not wanted at Celtic anymore,” says Nkausu.
“I still have a year remaining on my contract with Celtic so if there is going to be a termination of that contract then there has to be a pay-out.
“I am fine with the fact that they [Celtic] have said that they don’t want me anymore but there is a contract that I still have with them which needs to be sorted out.
“The matter is being handled by my agent and all I can hope for is that it is resolved soon so that I can then move on with my career,” he says.
Celtic confirmed a month ago that they will be releasing Nkausu after settling the outstanding money they owed him as part of his initial signing-on fees.
