S’boniso Gumede starts Platinum Stars training ahead of move

Posted: 14 July 2015 Time: 17:14

Bidvest Wits hardman S’boniso ‘Jomo’ Gumede has already started training with Platinum Stars ahead of his imminent move to the club.

KickOff.com reported two weeks ago that Gumede had attracted interest from Stars, Jomo Cosmos and AmaZulu and he will now be heading to the North West club in a transfer deal worth an estimated R2-million.

Wits and Stars have now agreed in principle to the transfer, with the 29-year-old expected to agree personal terms before the end of the week.

Gumede stared training with Dikwena in their afternoon session today as he gets down to familiarising himself with his new environment.

This website has gathered that Maritzburg United also showed interest in Gumede, but their efforts were in vain.

Maritzburg are desperately searching for a central defender following Kwanda Mngonyama’s return to his parent club Mamelodi Sundowns.
