PSL transfer news: Chiefs insist Mathoho is staying, dismiss Tshikovi talk

Posted: 6 July 2015 Time: 10:32

Kaizer Chiefs insist Mulomowandau Mathoho will remain at the club next season, while they have dismissed suggestions they are eyeing Platinum Stars defender Rofhiwa Tshikovhi.

Mathoho had attracted interest from Belgium, but Amakhosi football manager Bobby Motaung previously indicated a move was unlikely for the Bafana Bafana international.

Chiefs spokesperson Vina Maphosa has since reinforced 'Bobsteak''s position.

“Mathoho is not going to Belgium. He is a Kaizer Chiefs player and this will not be changing,” he says of the injured centre-back, who has been ruled out of the upcoming Carling Black Label Cup.

Tshikovhi, meanwhile, has been linked with the Absa Premiership champions for the past two seasons.

Maphosa, however, maintains the talk is without substance.

“We are not after him [Tshikovhi] and as far as I know, such a possibility has never been discussed by the club.”
