AmaZulu have decided against exercising their option of a further year on Roscoe Pietersen’s loan deal from SuperSport United after the club’s relegation to the first division.
Pietersen joined AmaZulu on a six-month loan deal during the January transfer window, with an option of a further year which was dependant on whether the club stayed up.
However, with Usuthu having been demoted, KickOff.com has been informed that Pietersen will be returning to his parent club.
Glyn Binkin, who represents the 26-year-old, confirms that his client is moving back to Tshwane.
“He is going back to SuperSport. He was on loan at AmaZulu with an option that was dependant on the club surviving," Binkin confirms to this website.
"[AmaZulu] will not take up the option and he is now going back to SuperSport.
"We will be guided by SuperSport on what other options can be pursued [for the player],” adds Binkin.
Pietersen started six just games, and came on as a substitute only once during his stay at the Durban-side.
