Thanda Royal Zulu FC striker Bernard Parker tells Kick Off that playing for Bafana Bafana in the international friendly against Canada yesterday is the highlight of his career since cutting his teeth in the professional ranks a few seasons ago.

Parker was impressive yesterday when Bafana put two goals past the visiting team’s goalkeeper to hand South Africa a morale booster ahead of the Afcon tournament in Ghana next year January.

“It was a great feeling to wear the Bafana Bafana jersey walking onto the pitch.

“That was a big moment in my career and it will motivate me to work harder and take my game to another level.

“I never expected to be in the starting line-up, but when the coach called out my name for the first eleven I told myself that this is my chance to impress.

“I think we were the better team on the day and deserved the victory. I will continue to work hard at Thanda in the hope that I will win more caps with Bafana Bafana soon.”

Two-goal hero Teko Modise also expressed excitement about being voted 'Man of the Match'.

He too added that this would serve to motivate him to continue working harder.

I just wish that coach will start selecting the players according to their performance but not according to their names, like he did yesterday against Canada.
