Matuka thrilled with Bloemfontein Celtic move from Maritzburg United

New Bloemfontein Celtic signing Thabang Matuka says it is a dream come true to join his hometown club.

Matuka penned a three-year deal with Celtic last month following a four-year spell with fellow PSL outfit Maritzburg United.

Matuka told Phunya Sele Sele's website: “Eish… where do I start? It’s an unbelievable feeling of returning home and immediately joining the team that you have grown to so fervently adore. Words cannot adequately describe how I felt the day I signed and even today still can’t believe my dream has finally been fulfilled.”

The left-back is hopeful he can prove his value in South Africa's judicial capital and catch the attention of Bafana Bafana boss Ephraim Mashaba.

“My ultimate goal is to play for the national team but that can only happen through 120 percent commitment at club level. The easiest path towards that is consistently performing with resilience and constantly shining and that is what I’m here for.”
