Golden Arrows and South Africa Under-23 goalkeeper Nkosingiphile Gumede says he wants to bring back the good memories when he returns in the PSL.
Despite not featuring much in Golden Arrows’ National First Division campaign due to injuries, Gumede says he wants to return to the level that he was when the club was still in the Absa Premiership.
“I just want to play more games. I know that I have suffered from injuries but I am looking forward to claiming my jersey back,” says the young gloveman.
The 21-year-old was previously the number one goalkeeper when Arrows were still in the top-flight and he says he wants to earn back that respect.
“When I play I want people to remember the Gumede that was once a number one goalkeeper for Arrows. It's not going to be easy, but I am willing to make a name for myself once again and become one of the best goalkeepers in the PSL,” he says.
Gumede has been part of the Arrows development structures and says he is happy with the progress he been making.
“I have been with the club from development stages and I have been learning a lot of things. I am excited that the club is back in the PSL and we can continue where we left off.”
Gumede will be competing with Ricardo Goss both at club level and for the national Under-23 jersey.
