Siyanda Zwane surprised by Bafana snub

Siyanda Zwane says he was surprised to be left out of the Bafana Bafana squad for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Gambia.
Shakes Mashaba yesterday announced a 27-man squad for the match in Durban – and a friendly against Angola in Cape Town three days later – but the Mamelodi Sundowns defender did not make the cut.
Zwane feels he has been playing well enough, having become a first team regular midway through the season, but acknowledges the final decision lies with the coach.
"It's life and nothing I can say will change it,” he tells KickOff.com. “I think everyone has his own time and I respect the decision made by the national team coach.
"Everyone wants to represent his country, but if the coach feels otherwise then what can you do? It’s something that is beyond my control.
“I would have loved to represent the country and thought I would get the nod, but what can I say?”
Zwane , who has one cap which he earned in 2011, says he will back Bafana all the way against Gambia.
“Despite me not getting a call-up, I will always be behind the national team because national pride is at stake … this is not about Siyanda Zwane.”
