PSL transfer news: Venter, Kerspuy, Masehe pen new Free State Stars contracts

Posted: 25 May 2015 Time: 08:16

Free State Stars winger Danny Venter has joined teammate Angelo Kerspuy in signing a new contract with the club.

Kerspuy recently penned fresh terms, with Stars assistant coach Themba Sithole confirming Venter has done likewise on a three-year deal.

Ea Lla Koto stalwart Paulus Mashehe has also committed his future to the Bethlehem-based outfit.

"Danny Venter has extended his contract for another three years and he is not going anywhere," Sithole tells KickOff.com.

"Players like Venter and Paulus Masehe... those players who have extended their contracts. You know also Angelo Kerspuy had extended his so we are very happy.

"You saw we did so well in the last part of the season and we are looking to start on a high note [next season], and it is good that we still have the core of players that helped us to survive."

Stars, however, have doubts as to whether strikers Abdul Adam Basit and Camaldine Abraw will be with the side next season.

The club has released Moffat Mdluli, Rudolf Bester and Sandile Mkhwanazi as they plot for 2015/16, while Tiyani Mabunda and goalkeeper Glenn Verbauwhede have returned to parent club Mamelodi Sundowns following loan spells.
