AmaZulu rookie Tapelo Nyongo remains committed to the club in the face of their relegation from the Premier Soccer League.
Usuthu were demoted on the final day of the season after a 2-1 loss to neighbours Maritzburg United, with teenager Nyongo scoring against the Team of Choice at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
"I still have a contract with AmaZulu, so I would like to continue playing for the team and being part of it," Nyongo told the club's official website.
"There is a lot that I still need to learn, but I must say that I enjoyed the challenge of playing in the PSL."
Nyongo was naturally pleased when he netted against United as it offered a glimmer of hope for his side. However, the defender admits he was not satisfied with his performance this past weekend.
"I felt happy because it brought hope that we could still win the match, but at the same time I knew that the match was not yet over. I was also disappointed that we had not taken the early lead."
He added: "To be honest, I was not happy with my performance in the last match. Some other games I think I did well, but I am not where I want to be. I think I am still developing."
Nyongo made his topflight debut in a 2-1 victory over University of Pretoria on December 2 following a successful trial with the Durban outfit.
