Moeketsi Sekola wins Lesley Manyathela Golden Boot award

Free State Stars striker Moeketsi Sekola has won the Lesley Manyathela Golden Boot award for the 2014/15 Absa Premiership season.

The 26-year-old netted on the final day as Stars drew 2-2 with Mpumalanga Black Aces to take his tally to 14 goals, pipping Lerato Lamola to the award after Bloemfontein Celtic lost 1-0 to Moroka Swallows. 

Polokwane City’s Puleng Tlolane, who was leading the standings at the turn of the year, finished on 11, while Cuthbert Malajila (Mamelodi Sundowns) and Kermit Erasmus (Orlando Pirates) were the other players to reach double figures.

SuperSport United’s New Zealand international, Jeremey Brockie, finishes with eight goals, despite only playing his first match in February.
