Lamola, who tops the Absa Premiership scoring charts with 13 goals alongside Moeketsi Sekola, picked up the prize yesterday, with Kaizer Chiefs boss Stuart Baxter winning the managerial equivalent.

"This humble and dedicated player deserves all the accolades coming his way. As a team we are ecstatic that eventually one of our players is recognised for his absolute commitment,” Ramabodu told his club's website.

“Lamola has matured with age and greatly contributing towards the success of the team through zealous attitude compounded by amazing God-given talent. The PSL has multitudes of players with great talent and to be chosen as the best means you are extraordinarily unique. We are indeed as a family happy for him and we shall continue supporting players to grow.”
