Polokwane City striker Puleng Tlolane has not given up on the race for the Absa Premiership top scorer award yet.
Known as 'Ytjukutja' by his fans, Tlolane has reportedly caught the eye of Kaizer Chiefs, scoring 11 League goals this season.
In the race for the Lesley Manyathela Golden Boot, Tlolane trails Moeketsi Sekola (Free State Stars) who has 12 goals to his name, and Lerato Lamola (Bloemfontein Celtic) who has netted 13 times.
He hopes to add to his tally away to Platinum Stars on Wednesday, believing Dikwena “may be a bit tired” after their 2-1 loss to Mamelodi Sundowns on Sunday.
Polokwane were last in action a week ago, when they drew 2-2 with Mpumalanga Black Aces in the League last Wednesday.
“Everything is going well, we are going there for the full three points,” Tlolane says confidently.
“After losing three games, we played to a draw in our last game, so now we’re going all out to get three points.
“I haven’t given up on the goalscorers’ prize and I must score to close the gap. I will not give up until the last game of the season because it won’t be decided until then.”
That last match, on Saturday will be at home to SuperSport United, a club that tried to sign Tlolane during the mid-season transfer window.
Platinum Stars host Polokwane City at Royal Bafokeng Stadium tomorrow evening, kick-off at 19h30 in Rustenburg on Saturday as they face SuperSport United at home to wrap their 2014/15 campaign.
