Swallows allow Bereng to leave

Moroka Swallows midfielder Tshwarelo Bereng will be released upon the expiry of his contract at the end of the season.

Bereng has battled to make any impact at Swallows this season, having yet to feature in a single match for the battling Birds during the current campaign.

Word reaching KickOff.com is that the option of a further year on his contract will not be exercised regardless of whether the club survives or drops down to the National First Division.

We have been told that the midfielder hasn’t shown enough to convince any of the four coaches that have been in charge this season that he is worthy of being thrown into the fray.

Much was expected of the 24-year-old when he signed from United FC two years ago, but after showing glimpses of hope in his first year - starting five games and appearing as a substitute in another 14 games - he has been a disappointment this term.
