Nigerian international Ejike Uzoenyi’s season could be over as the player has struggled to recover from a groin injury.
Ejike signed for Sundowns in January 2014 but only linked up with the team after representing his country at the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil.
The 23-year-old arrived at Sundowns after the 2014/15 season had already started due to work permit problems. After making a handful of appearances he suffered a groin injury that required an operation.
With five matches remaining before the end of the season, Ejike's season could well be over and Sundowns has refused to comment on the length of the injury.
“The player’s injury required an operation and right now he has been doing gym work,” Sundowns communications co-ordinator Thulani Thuswa tells KickOff.com.

Last season Zambian international Mukuka Mulenga joined Sundowns but spent the rest of that season without kicking the ball due to an injury.
Mulenga has spent the current campaign on loan at Bloemfontein Celtic, where he has made four assists in 17 appearances.
