Platinum Stars have put a 'not for sale' tag on defender Rofhiwa Tshikovhi after the player was linked to Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs.
KickOff.com has reported that the Tshiondo-born player will become a Kaizer Chiefs target during the off-season if the Amakhosi lose Mulomowandau Mathoho to the European clubs that are reportedly interested in his services.
However, Platinum Stars say they will not be letting go of any of their key players as they are rebuilding with a view of challenging for top honours again in 2015/16.
"We will not be parting ways with Tshikovhi or any of our key players during the off-season," Platinum Stars Football Manager Senzo Mazingiza tells KickOff.com.
Although Tshikovhi's contract with Dikwena expires at the end of the season, Mazingiza says the club will exercise an option contained in the deal.
"I do not want to discuss the contents of the player's contract – that is between him and the club – but what I can tell you is that we have an option that we will exercise," Mazingiza says.
"So the bottom line is that Tshikovhi has a contract with Platinum Stars and he is not for sale. We are used to these rumours every now and then but we are not really concerned.”
Mazingiza also revealed that Senegalese goalkeeper Bouna Condoul, who is now back in training with the club, is likely to get his papers from the department of Home Affairs on Tuesday.
"We have been given an assurance that his work permit will be ready by Tuesday," Mazingiza says.
