Kaizer Chiefs linked with Rofhiwa Tshikovhi

Kaizer Chiefs are set to renew their interest in Platinum Stars defender Rofhiwa Tshikovhi as a possible replacement for Mulomowandau Mathoho, according to a source.

Amakhosi have previously been linked with the Venda-born central defender, who is from Tshiondo village where Mathoho was also born.

Mathoho is set for a move abroad if reports are anything to go by. The Bafana Bafana defender has been linked with Belgian sides Anderlecht, Standard Liege and KV Oostende, who are home to Andile Jali and Knowledge Musona.

“If Mathoho leaves, Tshikovhi is seen as his replacement,” the source tells this website. “So there is a good chance that Tshikovhi may end up signing for Chiefs, but that move depends on whether Mathoho stays or not.”

Tshikovhi, who is 26 years old, has started 17 matches for Dikwena in all competitions this season.

Meanwhile, Chiefs’ current captain Tefu Mashamaite is yet to agree a new deal.
