AmaZulu's Mwape out of Polokwane clash

Posted: 13 April 2015 Time: 18:41

AmaZulu have suffered a blow as their top scorer Bornwell Mwape has been ruled out of Wednesday's clash with Polokwane City with a foot problem.

The Zambian, who has netted six goals this season, picked up the knock in last week's 1-0 defeat to log leaders Kaizer Chiefs.

Mwape was seen hobbling around on crutches at a training session on Monday, but Usuthu coach Steve Barker says the striker escaped serious injury.

"Bornwell Mwape will be unavailable on Wednesday but he will be available on the 29th [against Platinum Stars] and it is just a precautionary measure for him to be on crutches," explains Barker.

AmaZulu will also be without the suspended John Arwuah, as well as sidelined pair Roscoe Pietersen and Larry Horeab, with the latter out for the season.

However, there is good news for the relegation-threatened club as striker Bongi Ntuli has completed his two-game ban for the red card he received against Chippa United.

Influential midfielder Goodman Dlamini is likewise available again after serving a suspension for an accumulation of yellow cards.
