PSL Absa Premiership: Platinum Stars vs Ajax Cape Town

A double from Robert Ng'ambi helped Platinum Stars to a 2-1 win over Ajax Cape Town in an Absa Premiership encounter at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Saturday.

Dikwena got back to winning ways and up to 11th in what was Cavin Johnson's first game in his second spell at the North West outfit.
Tashreeq Morris squandered an early chance for the hosts, having found himself through on goal he looked sure to score, but Kabelo Dambe held his nerve to deny the Ajax midfielder in the eighth minute.
Ng'ambi opened the scoring five minutes later following a swift move down the right flank. The Malawi international directing Ndumiso Mabena's cross past Anssi Jaakkola and into the back of the net via his chest.
The Urban Warriors levelled matters just before the half-hour mark. Debutant Riyaad Norodien changed the point of attack before Bantu Mzwakali set-up Isaacs, who fired in from the edge of the area.
Botswana national Mogakolodi Ngele had a golden chance to restore Dikwena's advantage on the stroke of half-time. Mabena set-up the lanky attacker, who was brilliant denied by Jaakkola.
The hosts pushed forward after the interval, but Jaakkola stood firm with Ngele striking fear into the Ajax defence.
Dambe was at hand to deny Morris once again in the 86th minute before Ng'ambi completed his brace with two minutes remaining. The Stars midfielder heading Mduduzi Nyanda's cross past Jaakkola to condemn Ajax to yet another defeat away from home.
