Masehe braced for AmaZulu war

Posted: 31 March 2015 Time: 15:22

Free State Stars captain Paulus Masehe says "it's going to be war" against fellow strugglers AmaZulu at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.

The clubs are in a fight for survival, as Stars hover above the drop zone on goal difference with 22 points with seven games left - five points more than bottom-placed Usuthu.

“It’s not going to just be a game of football, it’s going to be war. They are fighting for their lives and so are we. It’s going to one very tough match, but we are prepared,” Masehe told his side's website.

“We have analysed their game to find out their strengths and weaknesses and I’m sure they have done the same.

“We have worked hard on our fitness and strength so that if we can’t beat them with tactics or skill, we can push the game to the next tempo so they can’t keep up with us.”

“I think the break has been positive for us because we managed to work on the aspects of our game which we needed to improve,” Masehe added of the ongoing Fifa break.

“Our finishing has been lacking lately and we haven’t managed to convert our chances, but overall the team is playing very well. We managed to work on that during the break."
