Brent Carelse has recovered from injury and been incorporated into the Bafana Bafana squad for Tuesday’s match against Canada in Durban.

Carelse missed out on the USA match at Ellis Park on Saturday after picking up a knock playing for his club Mamelodi Sundowns in last week’s League clash against Kaizer Chiefs.

He had been hoping for a chance to make his senior national team debut but now gets the opportunity to become Bafana’s 249th player in the last full international of the year for Carlos Alberto Parreira’s squad.

Carelse is one of two uncapped players in the squad with Itumeleng Khune, the 20-year-old Kaizer Chiefs’ goalkeeper, the other.

Bafana Bafana will, however, have to take the field without Lebogang Mothibantwa, who missed training because of injury although he remains with the side in the hope of a late recovery.

I think that it’s good news for the national team and sundows that carelse has recovered, but hope that he is given a chance and played in the middle of the park cause he can offer a lot going forward

ya it\'s good news for Sundowns and the player but not for Bafan. Carelse is not Bafan material and mind you which position would u give him. he is just an average player

Lets see what carelse can offer, it will be good to see the young Kaizer chiefs goal keeper in action.

Give the guy a chance and see what he can do, Rome was not built in one day and Bafana players need to see and feel our backing!

i think brent Carelse is exactly what bafana is lacking! and he will prove all wrong especially u nestum. your knowledge of soccer is clearly limited. carelse is definately bafana material and its sad that he only got the call up now, watch and see, he is 2010 potential! and the best thing about brent carelse is not which position to give him but how to decide where to put him because he is of the rare few players who are versatile in playing in more than one position. Its sad when people think they know what soccer is about just because they have t-shirt.

Brent Carelse is a copy and and paste of the Brazillian Kaka...
He doesnt loose possesion of the ball (he can protect the ball) and a very skillful player who happen to be playing for a team that plays one
