De Sa pleased with options

Ajax Cape Town coach Roger de Sa is pleased to have a healthy squad at his disposal - bar long-term casualty Brandon Petersen.

Petersen was ruled out for the season with a broken leg following a heavy collision with Mamelodi Sundowns attacker Anthony Laffor on December 20.

“We’ve managed to get all the guys who were injured back to fitness now, except for Brandon of course," De Sa said on Ajax's website.

“This leaves us in a good position of things stay the same way for the rest of the season.”

The Urban Warriors, who are fifth on the PSL table, tonight host Bloemfontein Celtic in the last-16 of the Nedbank Cup at Athlone Stadium, with De Sa quietly confident of advancing in the lucrative competition.

“We have a pretty good chance to progress through to the last eight of the Nedbank Cup now,” De Sa said.

“Our team is in good shape and good form. The club haven’t won many trophies over the last few years, so I feel like that takes a little bit of pressure off me, because any success that I bring will be good for the club. I personally put a lot of pressure on myself to win games and trophies. We’ll try and go as far as we can in this competition.”
