Mpho Mvelase delighted to make Pirates bow

Orlando Pirates midfielder Mpho Mvelase said he was delighted to make his debut for "the home of South African football" last night.

The former Chippa United player played an hour of Pirates' 2-1 win over Mpumalanga Black Aces before being replaced by Thabo Rakhale.

"I’m pleased to have been given the opportunity to play against Black Aces. Overall I was happy with my performance. All I look to do now is build from it and keep on improving," he is quoted on the Pirates website.

"To mark my debut at Orlando Stadium was special. Not only is it the home of Orlando Pirates, but also the home of South African football.

"Many stars have come to don this special jersey so it was an honour for me to play last night at Orlando and in front of our wonderful supporters."
