Mpho Marupingto miss Multichoice Diski Challenge Final

Posted: 25 February 2015 Time: 15:24

University of Pretoria captain Mpho Maruping admits that he is racing against time to be fit for the MultiChoice Diski Challenge Final on Saturday.

The Tshwane side will clash against neighbours Mamelodi Sundowns in the first ever Diski Challenge Final at Nike Football Training Centre in Soweto.

But Maruping, who suffered a knee injury in the first half of the semi-final against SuperSport United after being fouled by Jino Moeketsi, is likely to miss out.

“I had a nasty injury when we were playing SuperSport United and in the present situation I’m still under rehab. The physios will let me know what’s happening, but the chances of me playing are not good,” he confirms.

AmaTuks will also be without Siphelele Luthuli, who is travelling with the U20 national team to Senegal for the African Youth Championships.

Sundowns, on the other hand, will be without three of their players who are also travelling with Amajita. They are Mpho Mathekga, Madisha Modjeka and Keamogetswe Boikanyo.
