Ajax Cape Town’s Dominic Isaacs, Lance Davids and Nazeer Allie all set to make imminent returns from injury

Ajax Cape Town trio Dominic Isaacs, Lance Davids and Nazeer Allie are all set to make imminent returns from injury and should be fully fit when the League resumes next month.

Experienced defender Dominic Isaacs, who has missed a large portion of the season due to a hamstring injury, is expected to return soon after suffering a minor set-back, while injured duo Lance Davids and Nazeer Allie are also on the mend.

“We’ve had some issues because we expected Dominic Isaacs to be back by now, but he had a minor set-back, but we expect him to start training with the team again by the end of this week,” coach Roger De Sa told his club’s official website.

“Lance Davids and Nazeer Allie are also out injured now, but they aren’t too far from a return either.”

Following friendly encounters against European opponents PEC Zwolle and VfL Wolfsburg earlier this month, the Urban Warriors have been keeping match fit with a number of friendlies against local opposition, including Vasco Da Gama, Milano United, Cape Town All Stars and Santos.

De Sa feels these matches have been important for his side’s preparations for the second half of the season, having been able to try out various combinations and tactics.

“These friendlies are very important for us,” he said. “Maybe not so much the result, but the game-time and experiments are what we are looking for. We had the chance to put some nice combinations together and we tried some new things which worked nicely.”

“We will probably play one or two more friendlies against local opposition before the league restarts.”

The Cape side face Polokwane City at Cape Town Stadium in their first PSL fixture of 2015, scheduled for Wednesday, 11 February 11.
