Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene said they are disappointed with the point they got against Orlando Pirates in their 1-1 draw at Orlando Stadium.
With log leaders Kaizer Chiefs being held by Platinum Stars on Tuesday, Downs missed an opportunity to close the gap and slipped to third in the standings as Bidvest Wits beat Ajax Cape Town 4-2 last night.
“I think we are disappointed because we had the game in our hands,” Mweene said.
“It is something which we planned, we knew that if they will score they were going to do that from the set pieces.
“We are disappointed, one point okay we can take it, but we wanted the three points.”
Mweene was, however, pleased with his Man-of-the-Match performance as he made crucial saves to deny Kermit Erasmus and Lehlohonolo Majoro in Soweto.
“It was a tough game coming here, we knew that it was not going to be easy and they came to me on one-on-ones I think three or four times and as a goalkeeper you have to raise your hand and do your best to save the team.
“I think we did well we did everything that we could, it's only that we didn't kill the game and I think every one played well.
“All in all, we did what we could to get results but it was not our day.”
