Kaizer Chiefs striker Siphelele Mthembu reacted philosophically when asked about his long wait for his first Amakhosi goal.
Mthembu, an off-season signing from Platinum Stars, broke his duck in the 2-0 win over Orlando Pirates on Saturday, converting a cross from fellow substitute George Lebese in stoppage time at FNB Stadium.
“I have learnt in life that there must be a negative before a positive,” Mthembu told his club's official website on ending his drought.
The former Buccaneer was naturally pleased with his strike which followed a 51st minute opener from Man of the Match Siphiwe Tshabalala.
"We deserved to get that second goal,” said Mthembu. “It was great to see the ball hitting the back of the net. I was excited, above all, because I followed the coach’s instructions and it worked.”
